The Toei Kasumigaoka Public Apartments were built as part of the 1964 Olympic development. Located next to the National Stadium, it was an elderly housing complex with an average age of over 65 years old. Many residents lived alone and supported each other, but in July 2012, the residents received a "request to relocate" from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
